Peace River Mileages for 2008

In the late 1980's the State of Florida designated 38 State Canoe Trails and gave the outfitters the mileages to each point along the trail. The Peace River was one of the original trails. Spring forward about 20 years and add in the factor of GPS and the river mileages have changed. Therefore, the mileages in blue are the reflective of the 2008 figures, those in pink are the old mileages. We will continue to show the old mileages for a while until the new ones sink in. DEP has not updated the Peace River map at their website yet. DEP website will be updated sometime in September. All the mileages to Arcadia will not match DEP's because DEP's mileages go to the Arcadia Boat Ramp in DeSoto Park. Our mileages in pink will be in reference to the Dock in Arcadia.

Note: The old mileage to from Wauchula to Arcadia was 47 miles but the Scouts used 50 miles so they could qualify for the 50 mile badge.
