Once you are here...All half day and day runs check in at the Arcadia office (behind the Peace River Campground on State Road 70). Always leave your coolers and gear at your vehicle before coming to the office to check-in. The bus will leave from the parking lot that your vehicles are parked in. Everyone needs to come to the office unless you are with a group (see next paragraph). Everyone who can see over the check-in counter must sign the release. Spouses cannot sign for each other. Adults can't sign for kids if the kids can read and write. One person cannot sign for everyone. If kids can't see over the counter or if they are under 90 lbs., they need to be fitted with lifejackets, it is the law. Kid jackets are handed out at the office. Adults jackets (orange horse collars) are already on the bus as well as one boat cushion per person. Seatback rentals are available at check-in. They are not at the put-in or on the bus, you must pick them up at the office and load them yourselves or carry them with you.

Groups: A group (10 canoes or more) will have a group leader and a group sign-up. We only deal with the group leader at check-in. Individuals within a group that wish to pay separately (credit card or cash) will be charged full price. Group leader handles the check-in. If the group leader does not order seatbacks for the entire group then you need to come to the office and rent your own, see above. Kids need to come to the office for lifejackets, see above.
If you are with a group camped at the campground next door, let the office know, we can arrange to have the buses pick you up in the back parking lot of the Outpost if you are not camped in the Wilderness Area. That way you can carry your coolers over thru the "walk through" gate and don't have to drive. If you have a lot of coolers, you might send them over in a vehicle or two. Again, the buses can pick you up closer to your campsite, just let us know.
Along the way for any run….Stopping and picnicking allowed the entire trip on deserted islands and beaches. Canoe Outpost Oak Hill picnic area is located half way down from Brownville or 2/3’s of the way down from Gardner, 3.75 miles south of the Brownville Boat Ramp. Oak Hill has shady picnic areas with tables, portable toilets, and hiking trails and is for the exclusive use of Canoe Outpost customers. The Arcadia Outpost at the end of the trip has restrooms, outdoor shower, picnic shelter with grill, shady picnic areas with tables, fossil displays, shady parking.

Kayaks: Solo sit-on-top, tandem (2-seater), & cockpit kayaks are also available for any of the above runs. All kayaks are priced the same as a canoe.  Must have a reservation for kayaks. Kayaks have no storage so aren't good for overnight trips. They're great though when there's a third person (camping gear goes in the canoe). Or...as a solo paddler, rent a tandem (2-seater and put your camping gear in the front).
Note: Prices are based on having the canoe/kayak for the day and not length of trip. On all daily runs you can keep the canoe all day. Need to be back to the dock by 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and 6:00 p.m. on weekends. All prices are plus 7% sales tax if applicable.
